Members Doing Good Everyday-Success stories in and around our Pennsylvania Communities.
FEATURED MEMBER: Kaiserman Company FEATURED COMMUNITY: Rittenhouse Claridge Apartments FEATURED PERSON: Anthony Nowicki
A number of our member properties work with Move for Hunger to provide food to those in need. Move for Hunger is currently working with 1,500+ communities across the nation, that have collected nearly 95,000 pounds of food. This provides more than 80,000 meals for those in need!
In the month of January, our member Rittenhouse Claridge Apartments Team and the manager Anthony Nowicki were awarded the Community of the Month by Move for Hunger. The community received an award and a lot of media around their efforts to give back to the community.
As part of the interview with Move for Hunger and the PAA, we asked a series of questions to Anthony and his team about their willingness to work with their community. Here is the question and answer session:
What was the motivation behind partnering with Move For Hunger? Partnering with Move for Hunger was a no brainer for us. When some of our residents moved out, we often found that they left behind some perishable food items. We thought, rather than toss it in the trash, why not donate it to someone in need; it’s a win-win!
Why do you feel it's important to give back especially right now? Many Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and we understand this has become significantly more difficult with millions out of work due to the ongoing pandemic. If we can help in just the slightest way, by putting a little extra food on the table for families and children in need, we’re always happy to do so. A special thanks in particular to all of our Rittenhouse Claridge residents and staff who donated perishable items over the holiday season to those in need. They were a huge part of our donations!
Anything else you'd like to share about your team, company, Move For Hunger, etc.? Rittenhouse Claridge and Kaiserman Company have been part of the Philadelphia and Tri-State community for nearly 100 years. We believe in showing by doing; charity and local programs are at the heart of our company mission, vision, and core values. As a family owned business, we know first-hand how impactful every individual can be to each other, and how important resource sharing & conservation is to our community.
