Property Manager of the Year


To be considered as Property Manager of the Year, the Property Manager will need to submit a video, in addition to the person who is nominating the candidate who will be filling out our online form. As a reminder, the candidate will be scored by the property’s total average score for entered categories of Leasing/Marketing & Web Engagement, Maintenance, and Overall Excellence categories, form and video scores will be added and averaged to the total score. Highest score across the state wins!

The property manager may use a cellphone or any other recording platform to record a short video. [maximum video recording should be 2 minutes] The video must record the manager answering the below questions.

  1. Candidates full name
  2. Name of your Management Company.
  3. Name of your Apartment Community.
  4. State the total number of apartments at your community.


  1. How do you communicate to residents with community updates or emergencies?
  2. As the Property Manager, what is your daily routine?
  3. Please tell us how you would handle this scenario:
    • A resident’s hot water heater leaked all over the apartment. Unfortunately, the resident was not home over the weekend when the incident occurred. The resident came home to a flooded nightmare!
  4. Please tell us how you would handle this scenario:
    • An employee comes to you and states they think that another employee is doing drugs on the job. What do you do?
  5. What relationships as the Property Manager are important to you?
  6. If someone is thinking about becoming a Property Manager like yourself and asked you for advice, what would you say?
  7. What is the most difficult part about being a Property Manager?
  8. Do you have a favorite moment you can share as a Property Manager?
  9. How are you managing your team during COVID?
