Press Release from Door Dash

MULTI AGENCY RESOURCE CENTERS

Two Multi Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) are currently scheduled to assist survivors in recovery from Ida. A MARC is a “one stop shop” that provides assistance to impacted residents by bringing together staff from many agencies who can help with the services needed to address the losses caused by Hurricane Ida.

CRISIS CLEANUP

Crisis Cleanup has opened a Hurricane Ida incident for PA.  All relief organizations and responding government agencies may have appropriate levels of access to the data:

  1. Log in. On the Dashboard, click “Request Redeploy” in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. If your organization does not have an account, register at https://www.crisiscleanup.org/register

Hotline: Survivors are encouraged to call 844-965-1386 to request help with muck out, debris removal, tree work, mold removal, rebuild and more.  Go to http://blog.crisiscleanup.org for posters and flyers.  Attached you will find the messaging you can share with the general public and a brochure that describes Crisis Cleanup.

Phone Volunteers: We anticipate the need for phone volunteers.  Phone volunteering is a great COVID-safe way to do meaningful service.  CCU will provide training.  If your organization would like to answer phones, please contact Gina Newby, gina@crisiscleanup.org.

If you are new to Crisis Cleanup, here is how it works:

  1. A survivor calls the hotline.
  2. CCU routes calls to volunteers in their homes.
  3. The volunteer enters the cleanup request on to a shared map.
  4. Relief organizations log in, claim a case, contact the homeowner, do the work, and close the case.

All relief organizations can see all of the cases. This minimizes duplication of efforts, premature demobilization, and provides a shared operating picture. After cleanup, all client information is available to Long-Term Recovery Groups. Here is a 5-minute introductory training video:  https://youtu.be/ot4LZjtK0xo.
