Sherrod Scott is the owner of Sandman HD LLC, a multifamily surveillance and technology company focused on helping apartment communities better protect their properties, residents, and staff.

Before entrepreneurship, Sherrod worked as a technician for companies including Comcast, Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), and RCN. In 2004, he left corporate America and jumped headfirst into business ownership — eventually landing in the multifamily industry through a relationship with multifamily real estate mogul and former PAA member S&S Property Investments.

At the time, Sherrod admits he “didn’t know diddly-squat” about the construction and technology demands of 10 and 12 story 400 unit apartment communities and was completely overwhelmed stepping into large-scale multifamily environments. More than a decade later, that experience evolved into hands-on expertise in surveillance systems, property technology, and operational problem-solving for apartment communities.

Today, Sherrod is known for his energetic, real-world approach to helping property managers understand the difference between systems that merely record 24/7 and systems that actually capture useful evidence when it matters most.
