PAA Government Affairs Campaign Launch: Protect Housing. Strengthen Our Voice. Invest in Advocacy.
Our Industry. Our Voice. Our Future.
Help PAA protect the future of rental housing in Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania’s rental housing industry is facing consequential legislative, regulatory, and political challenges. From proposals that threaten to impose rent control in Philadelphia to legislation affecting housing providers’ operations, costs, and ability to invest in their communities, the decisions made by elected officials today will shape the future of our industry for years to come.
Now is the time to strengthen our advocacy, expand our engagement, and ensure the voices of Pennsylvania’s housing providers are heard.
The Pennsylvania Apartment Association (PAA) is launching its Government Affairs fundraising campaign to strengthen our political engagement and advocacy efforts at the state and local levels. Our goal is straightforward: ensure that policymakers understand the real-world consequences of their decisions on housing providers, residents, housing availability, and the long-term health of our communities.
The Stakes Are Too High to Sit on the Sidelines
Across Pennsylvania, legislation and local policy proposals can directly affect our ability to provide and maintain quality rental housing. PAA is working to advance practical, responsible policies that encourage housing development, preserve existing housing, support safe communities, and avoid unnecessary regulatory burdens.
In Philadelphia, the stakes are particularly significant.
The 2027 municipal election will be a pivotal moment for the future of rental housing. With the mayoral race and City Council elections approaching, we must be prepared to engage with candidates, educate policymakers, and support elected leaders who recognize the importance of a stable rental housing market and a sustainable environment for housing investment.
PAA must have the resources to advocate for policies that expand housing opportunities, oppose harmful proposals such as rent control, and promote constructive solutions to Philadelphia’s housing challenges.
This work requires sustained engagement, strategic relationships, and the resources to make our industry's perspective part of the conversation.
Two Funds. One Stronger Voice.
To support this mission, we are calling on PAA members and industry partners to invest in two complementary areas of our government affairs work.
1. PAA Political Action Committee (PAA PAC)
The PAA PAC supports eligible political engagement and candidates who understand the importance of responsible housing policy and a strong rental housing industry.
PAC resources help PAA participate in the political process, build relationships with candidates and elected officials, and support leaders whose policy priorities align with our industry's interests, subject to applicable campaign-finance laws and contribution limits.
2. PAA Advocacy Fund
The PAA Advocacy Fund supports the broader work of protecting and advancing our industry's policy priorities. Contributions help strengthen legislative and regulatory advocacy, policy education, stakeholder engagement, coalition-building, and efforts to communicate the practical impact of proposed laws and regulations.
From Pittsburgh to Harrisburg, and to Philadelphia including communities throughout the Commonwealth, these resources help PAA advocate for policies that support housing availability, responsible investment, and a sustainable operating environment for housing providers.
Your Investment Makes a Difference
Effective advocacy requires more than responding to legislation after it is introduced. It requires preparation, consistent engagement, credible policy analysis, and the ability to communicate our industry's priorities before decisions are made.
Every contribution helps strengthen our collective capacity to engage policymakers and advance a constructive policy agenda for rental housing in Pennsylvania.
We invite you to support the PAA Government Affairs Campaign today.

Thank you for your continued commitment to PAA and the future of rental housing in Pennsylvania.
