Statement Regarding Sale of Properties and Dues Refunds

When a property within the portfolio is sold, any request for a refund or prorated portion of association dues must be handled directly between the seller and the buyer (new or existing member). The Association will not issue refunds or adjust dues at the time of sale.

If you sell a property, please contact the new owner or their representative to negotiate any reimbursement for dues paid in advance. All financial arrangements related to the transfer of ownership should be settled privately between the parties involved.

Formal Statement: NAA Click & Lease Transfer Requirement

The National Apartment Association (NAA) mandates that a Click & Lease program transfer (Property Transfer Request) be completed whenever a property undergoes a change in ownership. This requirement ensures that the lease documents and associated forms generated through the Click & Lease platform remain legally accurate, compliant, and correctly aligned with the current ownership entity.

Upon acquisition of a property, the incoming owner or management entity must initiate the transfer process without delay. Completion of this transfer includes providing verified ownership information, updating management company details, and confirming that all leasing activity is conducted under the correct ownership profile. No new leases or renewal documents should be executed until the Click & Lease profile reflects the updated ownership.

This requirement is intended to maintain regulatory compliance, preserve the validity of executed lease documents, and ensure continuity of leasing operations within the NAA Click & Lease system.
