Event Details

Earning your Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) credential takes you to the next level in property management. It fast-tracks your career advancement and your corresponding earning potential.

You'll learn about: Recruiting high-performing employees, employee performance, engagement, and retention, minimizing conflict through stakeholder communications, ethical behavior and conflicts of interest, annual operating budgets and owner performance objectives, property and portfolio results, due diligence process, property takeover process, capital improvement plans, managing risk through inspections, follow-up procedures, and incident reporting compliance, minimizing legal risk and liability, regulatory agency oversight of assisted housing, analyzing property performance data to inform action, management agreement, and evaluating and reporting property performance using key performance indicators.

The CAPS Online course includes the following modules, which can each be purchased individually: Client Services and Stakeholder Relations Investment Management Improving Asset Performance Asset Evaluation and Preservation Talent Development Contemporary Issues in Multifamily Housing. 

To obtain the CAPS credential, candidates must complete the following: Minimum of 24 months employment as a multi-site supervisor or be either a CAM, ARM or RAM credential holder in good standing Successful completion of all CAPS course work (totaling 40 hours) Meet all examination standards within 6 months of declaring candidacy

PAA Education Cancellation Policy
 Thank you for taking the time to peruse the Pennsylvania Apartment Association’s education course catalog.  It should be noted that classes may be subject to the following: move in physical location, incur a date or time change, change in instructors, potentially cancel due to a low attendance, or any combination thereof.  Every effort will be made by the Pennsylvania Apartment Association's staff to alert you of any necessary changes in a timely fashion.  Your flexibility and understanding of these potential changes 
is appreciated.
 

Credential/certification, special trainer led courses or courses with NAA-produced materials: Cancellation (in writing to kmckinney@paahq.com) must be received at least 14 days prior to first day of class for full reimbursement. After this point, only name changes will be accepted. 

Other education workshops and seminars: Cancellation must be in writing at least 3 business days prior to the class. 50% fee will be charged. No refund for classes cancelled in less than 3business days.  Webinar Wednesdays and Mastering Maintenance Webinars cannot be cancelled within 2 weeks of the Webinar. If you are unable to attend, a link will be sent to you after the webinar which you can view on your own.  

After deadlines, only name changes will be accepted, and all invoices must be paid. 

Credit will not be given for no-shows.  

Only PAA members in good standing will receive the published PAA member rate. The non-member rate will be applied to all registrations that do not include a PAA member number.
